Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

                                                                                         Richard Lewis McIntyre,

                                                                                                          1929 - 2016

86, of Door Village, died peacefully at 6:11 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2016, at LaPorte Hospital.

He was born June 30, 1929, in Rolling Prairie, IN, to Lester B. and Pearl (Reeder) McIntyre.

Richard honorably served his country in the United States Air Force while stationed in Japan during Post World War II. He was a member of American Legion, FOP and Moose Lodge, all of LaPorte, and the Indiana  [Richard Lewis McIntyre (2)] Association of Chiefs of Police. Richard was Chief of Police for the City of LaPorte from 1964–1971, retiring as Captain in 1972. He also retired from Whirlpool in LaPorte after 16 years. Richard was a diehard Cubs fan and an avid fan of his grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sports. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and baking. Richard greatly loved his family and church family. He was strong and brave while battling cancer many times.

The family wishes to thank all of Richard’s co-workers, friends and “officer buddies” for the support they gave over the years.

On Nov. 6, 1949, in Rolling Prairie, he married Betty L. (Bush) McIntyre, who survives.

Also surviving are two children, Susan (Craig) Anderson and Michael (Pam) McIntyre, both of LaPorte; sister, Virginia (Robert DeBold) Klein of LaPorte; four grandchildren, Amy (John) Boyd, Abbie (Adam) Kramer, and Andrew and Adam (Kellie) McIntyre; two great-grandchildren, Megan and Nicholas Boyd; and several extended family members.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Roger and Roscoe McIntyre; and one sister, Marvelene McIntyre.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 15, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, with Pastor Deb Beason officiating.

                                                                    1937 - 2016

79, of LaPorte, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at Golden Living Center, LaPorte.

He was born Oct. 20, 1937, in LaPorte to Ernest and Gladys (Tiarks) Blint.

Donald was a retired mechanic and also a member of Pioneer Antique Auto Club.

On Sept. 28, 1963, in Rolling Prairie, IN, he married Linda Lou Haverstock, who preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ernest Blint Jr. and Gordan Blint.

Surviving are his beloved children, Jennifer (Kelly) Jones of LaPorte, Donald (Crissy) Blint Jr. of Rolling Prairie and Debra Weisenberger of New Carlisle, IN; eight grandchildren, Lauryn, Austin, Alicia, Danielle, Clint, Tyler, Michaela, and Kaylee; two great-grandchildren, Aria and Korbyn; and brother, James (Joyce) Blint.

89, of LaPorte, died peacefully Wednesday, March 2, 2016.

She was born May 19, 1926, in Campbellsville, KY, to Ernest and Una Lotter.

Thelma graduated from Rolling Prairie High School in 1944. She and her female classmates formed “The ’44 Club” and met monthly for over 50 years (NO BOYS ALLOWED!). She was a member of Rolling Prairie Eastern Star and Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church. Thelma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a gentle soul who will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her children, Ann (Roy) Gropp of LaPorte, Lynn (Denny) Emmert of Syracuse, IN, Eric Fritzen of LaPorte and Amy Bruce of Phoenix, AZ; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Wilma Koeppen and Harold (Elsie) Lotter; sister-in-law, Phyllis Lotter; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Fritzen; and siblings, Lee Lotter, Coy Lotter and Norma Tarnow.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 5, at 10 a.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LaPorte, with Pastor Debbie Beason officiating.
